Have a wonderful holiday vacation! Emily and I are taking a vacation for the next few weeks to recharge our batteries, ha. Hope you can spend quality time with those you love. Go out in 2011 with a happy face! Be cheerful!♥
Have a wonderful holiday weekend! Can you believe it is the last weekend before Christmas to get all of your final errands done? I love the moment you can finally stop and actually enjoy your family. I am always reminded of one of my favorite sayings, “be present.” It means the gift is to actually be in the moment instead of hovering around and missing the true meaning of Christmas. That would be my gift to you this season. Be cheerful! ♥
Happy holidays and Christmas cheer overflowing with love and happiness, well not quite everywhere. Have you been to a local mall parking lot recently, filled with crabby holiday shoppers trying to get that last parking spot? I wasn’t feeling any Christmas love when I got cut off for the third time just trying to park? Santa would be risking his life if he stood out in that lot! Don’t you love the people who leave you waiting for their spot for 5 minutes only to find out they aren’t leaving?? I must admit, Emily and I have played that game just for amusement where you walk to the wrong row in the lot and then quickly jump across to a different row. It gave us a holiday laugh and a little grinchness.
I have never been a big fan of Santa or any of his people (elves) coming into my home on Christmas Eve. Wait, any other day of the year, this would be cause for alarm if a strange man walked into my home unannounced. Why on Christmas Eve do parents act like this is perfectly normal, ha? I was traumatized as a child when “Santa” left a candy cane trail all the way upstairs to my room. Instead of the pure joy my parents expected, I was freaked out. New tradition, I sleep in my parent’s bed on Christmas Eve!
My favorite holiday treat is chocolate any way you wrap it! I will take it in any form, at any time, throughout the holiday season. Why is it we feel like all diets and pounds lost throughout the year go completely out the window when the holidays roll around? Just like the roll around my middle section, ha. It’s okay, it’s Christmas! I need some jolly (or is that jiggle) in my step.
Red and white striped happiness, candy canes! There is nothing better to put a smile on someone’s face then to hand them one. What is it about a seasonal candy that can make the most stressed out holiday shopper or tired college student happy? This is a simple gift idea that costs little, but goes a long way. Pass some out today!
